Reducing Use of Plastics

For nearly a century, use of plastic products has been on increase. Seventeen percent of our country's waste containers, furniture, crockery and plastics.

Plastic bag, drink bottles, food containers, furniture, crockery and plastic parts in vehicles and appliances are recyclable.

After removing left-over content, caps and labels, the plastic materials should be cleaned and dried. They can be bundles neatly in bags or boxes. Plastic materials should be deposited into orange recycling bins or sold at recycling centres.

Dirty and stained plastic bags, stryofoam, containers used for chemicals, fuel, pesticides, detergents and laboratory apparatus are not suitable for recycling.
